My husband and I have been married for 18 years and we are miserable. He is disabled and cant work and his family will not help him at all. He has no income. Should I continue to support him ?

Marriage not just a piece of paper but a lifelong commitment. Till death do us part is the phrase that captures its meaning perfectly. I understand it can be hard when you have a husband who is disabled and can no longer provide for his family. Imagine how he feels? If the table was turned he would support you and love you for better or for worst, till death do you part.

Just as Rick simply stated marriage is a life long commitment, you promised to be there for better or for worse and you should not leave him due to something that is beyond his control. Unless the love is no longer there you should be more understanding and try to work things out, possibly attend some marriage counseling to help you guys work out through some of these issues. How come your husband does not have any income? Did he ever worked in his life? If he did he may qualify for Social Security Disability benefits(SSD). If he never worked and has no other income he can also apply for Supplemental Security Income (SSI). Contact your local Social Security office to see if your husband qualifies.

Well if you have put up with him for 18 years, what a few more years..lol you have to do what you feel is right, and sounds like you have a good heart.
