If you have the opportunity and the means to go to an out of state college then do it and take advantage of the opportunity to live away from home and live in a different environment where you can gain independence, self confidence and learn about responsibilities.
However, the main reason to choose a College/University should be whether or not the school has a good program in the field you are interested in. Do you know what you want to major in or what area of studies you are interested in? Do you want to go to a school located in a rural or urban setting? Do not rule out colleges early because of cost. Many colleges offer scholarships, financial aid, and tuition installment plans that make them affordable. Just do your research and narrow it down to 3 or 5 colleges and then do your research by visiting them and checking out what they have to offer.... Staying home will definetely save you money but it all comes down to what you want to do and what you want to experience.
